Planet Hemp Newsletter: Cooperative Currents
Issue: Winter 2025 A Message from the PHGC Team

Dear Friends, Members, and Partners of the Planet Hemp Ecosystem,
As the year draws to a close, we extend our warmest wishes and deep gratitude for your commitment to our shared vision. The past year has been transformative, marked by unprecedented engagement as we continue to build a global cooperative founded on regeneration, transparency, and equity. Every action, whether taken by a Seedling member exploring our blog, a Grower member submitting their regenerative metrics, or a Pioneer member investing in our innovative supply chains, contributes to the powerful, positive imprint we are making on the planet.
Our philosophy is simple: financial prosperity should be a consequence of ecological and social health, not a cause of their destruction. This principle is what drives our commitment to Fair Trade, Sustainable Agriculture, and the revolutionary Regenerative Finance (ReFi) Co-Lab.
🌿 Spotlight on Standards: Setting the Bar for Regeneration
This quarter, we want to highlight the foundational structural work that will ensure our co-op remains resilient for generations to come.
The newly finalized Standard Policy Agreement (SPA), which outlines commitments across all membership tiers, is now fully active. This document formalizes our promise to the planet and our people. For our Grower and Pioneer Tiers, this means:
- Verifiable Ethics: Adhering to the Fair Trade and Labor Standards (F.T.L.S.) is non-negotiable, ensuring every hand involved in the hemp value chain receives a living wage and works in safe conditions.
- Ecological Accountability: Growers are actively implementing the Regenerative Cultivation Protocol (RCP), focusing on increasing Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) and enhancing biodiversity. These practices are the core of our Anti-Exploitation Clause, protecting both the environment and our primary producers from short-term financial pressures.
💡 The Future is Transparent: ReFi Co-Lab Update
We are thrilled with the progress of the ReFi Co-Lab financial platform. This technology is the key to unlocking true, transparent value.
By utilizing Smart Contracts and the principle of on-chain transparency, we are moving away from opaque payment systems. This means that Fair Trade premiums and regenerative bonuses are now automatically distributed when our audit function verifies the data—a truly revolutionary system for ensuring economic justice.
We thank all members of the Grower and Pioneer Tiers for integrating with this system. Your commitment to financial compliance and the contribution of impact metrics is directly fueling the ReFi Co-Lab Resilience Fund, which reinvests capital directly into community support and R&D for future proofing.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the new year, our focus remains on scaling the functional benefits of the PMSH (Product & Market Synergy Hub) to better integrate the outputs from our R&D functions (biofuels, bioplastics, and specialized textiles) with high-value market access.
We wish you and your loved ones a joyful, peaceful, and regenerative holiday season. Thank you for making Planet Hemp a force for positive change.

Focus: Management and scheduling of shared physical assets, including processing infrastructure and clean transport systems.
Function: The SRLC optimizes the logistical chain by managing the scheduling and maintenance of cooperatively-owned assets like Mobile Micro-Decortication Units, centralized drying facilities, and clean transport fleets. This ensures that infrastructure access is equitable for small-scale farmers and maximizes the efficiency of the entire network.
Key Activities: Asset booking and scheduling; demand forecasting for processing capacity; reporting infrastructure issues; optimizing circular waste-stream logistics.
Focus: Open-source software development, data governance, and knowledge equity.
Function: This group oversees the collective intellectual property (IP). It manages the development roadmap for the Decentralized Supply Chain Ledger (blockchain), reviews contributions to the open-source codebases, and sets ethical protocols for how member-generated data (e.g., soil health metrics) can be used for community benefit while safeguarding individual privacy (GDPR compliance).
Key Activities: Reviewing code contributions; defining data standards; organizing developer hackathons; running user-centric testing of new platform tools.
Focus: Managing collective capital pools, impact investment sourcing, and the integration of carbon credit revenues.
Function: This group governs the financial structures of the cooperative. Members collaborate on evaluating low-risk project pitches, setting the price floor for guaranteed off-take contracts (ensuring farmer stability), and transparently allocating revenues generated from the sale of verified Hemp Carbon Credits back into the community and R&D.
Key Activities: Financial literacy training; project proposal vetting; collective investment decisions; auditing carbon sequestration data.
